Fundamentals for Psychoanalytic Research of Social Phenomena

This book is recommended for anyone who wants to delve into Lacanian psychoanalytic research. It introduces issues related to the problematisation of psychoanalysis as a science, its object, the definition of the research subject, and the method. It can also provide relevant concepts for approaching social phenomena by establishing dialogues with social psychology and sociology. To this end, it addresses fundamental operators within psychoanalysis, such as Lacan's four discourses, as well as concepts that dialogue with other areas of knowledge, always contextualising the subject of the unconscious and their perspective of submission and/or transformation in the face of social and economic aspects. For both study and research, the aim is to achieve a well-founded approach that is open to dialogue with other disciplines.

Guilherme Barati holds a PhD in Education from Unicamp and a Master's degree in Social Psychology from PUC-SP. He is a researcher and member of the Centre for Studies on Work, Health and Subjectivity at Unicamp. He works as a psychoanalyst in private practice and develops studies and teaching materials on Lacanian psychoanalysis.
