Nanotechnology deals with the development of experimental processes for the synthesis of nanoparticles of different sizes, shapes, and controlled dispersity. Nanoscale materials usually range from 1-100 nm, and this is an emerging area of nanoscience and nanotechnology. It has also gained emergent interest due to its superior properties with functional versatility and serves as a potential tool for treating various diseases. Metal nanoparticles possess unique properties, much different from that of bulk materials. Nanoparticles find applications in optoelectronic devices, environment-friendly energy systems, biosensors, biomedical imaging, and drug delivery purposes.This book is intended for B.Sc. and M.Sc. students to acquire knowledge about the basic concepts of nanoscience, the nature of nanotechnology, different methods for the synthesis of nanomaterials, and characterization techniques used in the analysis of nanoparticles, in a concise way.
