Antenna in fourth generation(4G) is said to be not sufficient for the new generation of mobile communication - fifth generation(5G). With the continuous progress of wireless communication, devices becoming compact day by day. A compact antenna need to be develop to meet the requirements of 5G which enable a higher capacity, more connectivity, higher reliability and larger application. Some key factors such as lightweight, ease of fabrication, low cost, low profile and robust must be taken into account.

Mohammad Tariqul Islam received his Ph.D degree in telecommunication engineering from the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 2006. He is currently a senior lecturer at Institute of Space Science, UKM, Malaysia. His research interests concerns the enabling technology for RF, antenna technology, smart antenna receiver and MIMO.
