Details

Stroke survivors usually have gait and balance deficits. This book presents the results of a study on the assessment of gait pattern and balance performance in hemiparetic stroke survivors in Osun state, south western Nigeria.Differences between genders, stroke types and side of paralysis were reported. Relationship among the stroke characteritics were also reported. Unlike gender and stroke type, laterality did not have any effect on the gait, balance performance and walking ability of stroke survivors and should not be a factor in the gait and balance assessment and retraining of stroke survivors.
