Gender equality is a key issue in development and gender mainstreaming is now common practice. Rural women are silent workers and major contributors to rural economy. This book focused on gender inequality and its impact on socio-economic development of rural households in Bangladesh.The book also dealt with the issue of gender inequality in the context of rural Bangladesh and highlights how women's access to power and other facilities in household may contribute to the development of the country. Autorentext

Md. Asaduzzaman was born in the Jessore district of Bangladesh. He completed his B.Sc.Ag.Econ.(Hons.) and Masters of Science in Rural Sociology from Bangladesh Agricultural University. Now he has been working as a lecturer in the department of Rural Sociology, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh, Bangladesh.
