Gender Mainstreaming in Demobilization and Peace

Demobilization contributes to the maintenance of peace and security. Its implementation takes little account of gender and women's rights. Women take on responsibilities in armed conflict and are survivors of crime. Gender in Peace and Community Security is an exploration of the contributions of demobilization to peace and gender. It was about knowing and understanding through the expressions of practitioners and experts on leadership and the promotion of women's rights in peacekeeping activities on the one hand and on combating crime against women and girls on the other. Women have played a crucial role in armed combat operations. It goes without saying that they can be involved in demobilization and economic and social reintegration. Similarly, they have been survivors of human massacres, war crimes such as sexual violence, the worst forms of labor and armed community conflicts, and crimes against humanity. Thus, the definition of protection and cohabitation actions was the second moment of the meeting.

Nasceu em Mitembu, agrupamento Bashimwenda Mulolwa em Wamuzim. Frequentou a escola primária em Isecha, Kitutu, Kazuza e Tukenga. É licenciado em educação geral pelo IDKa e em desenvolvimento rural pelo ISDR. Trabalhou na ACDR entre 1992-2009. Actualmente é o director da AMEN.
