The purpose of this book is to describe the factors influencing generic medicines utilization in Bulgaria with special emphasis on the cardiovascular generic medicines. The book is organized into four chapters. Chapter 1 is a review of measures supporting generic medicines penetration in the world pharmaceutical market. We also focus on Bulgarian national policy encouraging generics distribution and utilization. Chapter 2 illustrates generics utilization in Bulgaria as a result from price control and competitors entrance during 2009-2014 into the market. In Chapter 3 we present a study exploring Bulgarian cardiologists and pharmacists' opinion about generics and fixed doses combinations (FDCs) in cardiology. The study uses questionnaires for assessment of key issues. Chapter 4 presents satisfaction of the health care professionals' with generics and FDCs in cardiology.
