Details

Earliness in cotton plant is a complex character as it is controlled by many genes. Yet it is highly desirable in the areas where cotton-wheat-cotton rotation is in practice because short duration cotton varieties vacate the fields for timely wheat sowing. Besides, it is beneficial for avoiding late season insect attack. This book deals with study of gene action involved in the inheritance of traits associated with earliness. Moreover, inheritance pattern of some yield contributing traits have also been discussed.

Autorentext

My PhD is in Plant Breeding and Genetics from University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, (Pakistan). I am interested in genetic up gradation of cotton plant through use of breeding and molecular approaches. So far, I have worked on improving traits related to earliness, stress tolerance and yield under contrasting environment
