The process of cement production emits more than 7 % of CO2 to the environment accounting for the greenhouse effect. About 65 % of global warming is caused by CO2. The cement industry causes high pollution in the environment. So, there is a necessity for alternate material for cement in the concrete which should be eco-friendly, should satisfy mechanical properties and durability characteristics. This new material should be more superior, preferable compared to conventional concrete based on cement. In view of the importance of environmentally sustainable construction and construction materials innovative geopolymer is developed. In this book "Geopolymer concrete Experimental Studies on Creep and Shrinkage" an effort is made to understand the behaviour with different proportions of GGBS at ambient temperature, replacement of fly ash with GGBS in different ranges, the effect of concentration of sodium hydroxide on strength of geo-polymer concrete, study on creep behaviour of Low Calcium Fly ash Based Geopolymer Concrete. A book of this nature is essential for a better understanding of the behaviour of the material.

Autorentext

Dr T R Shashi Shekhar studied his M.Sc from Bangalore University and PhD in Environmental Science from Kuvempu University, Karnataka. He has 12 years of Teaching and 06 years of Research Experience. He enjoys the distinction of authoring 08 books and published more than 40 research publications in reputed National and International Journals.
