Details
The book "Germans in Azerbaijan: Unknown Pages" shows the main challenges of the German pages of Azerbaijan's history. The authors have covered the lower and upper limits of the chronological framework of the object of study and step-by-step showed the key issues of the problem "Germans in Azerbaijan". Focusing on the unfolding socio-political processes in Europe and the South Caucasus at the beginning of the XIX century, the authors have highlighted the history of the Germans in the country, and stressed that during the conquest of the South Caucasus mega-region, the Russian Empire, in order to assert its political power in a heterogeneous area dominated by the Islamic religion, pursued a policy of "diluting" the Muslim stratum and accommodating Christian ethnic groups, among whom the first were Germans from the Kingdom of Württemberg.
