Gestational Diabetes Mellitus in Primi Gravida

Considering the prevalence, complications and other aspects of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM), this study was designed to determine the percentage of primi gravida identifiable as GDM in different trimesters of pregnancy by Oral Glucose Tolerance Test and to see if the historic or clinical risk factors had any significant association with GDM. In addition, it was aimed at creating consensus among health personnel regarding this common and manageable problem, which is frequently overlooked.

Ifat Ara Begum is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, Dhaka Medical College, Bangladesh. She obtained the Degree Of Master of Philosophy (Medical Science) in Biochemistry from University of Chittagong, Bangladesh at 2009. Her research interest is in different types of diabetes and its related consequences.
