Giddens and Structuration Theory

Anthony Giddens is a British sociologist who is renowned for his theory of structuration and his holistic view of modern societies. He is considered to be one of the most prominent modern contributors in the field of sociology but he has been less debated in terms of his theory of religion and his approach to conditions of human existence. In this work, the Irano-Swedish social theorist Seyed Javad Miri from Institute of Humanities and Cultural Studies (IHCS) has attempted to look at Giddens' structuration theory in the matrix of modernity and its consequences for what Erich Fromm terms as conditions of human existence.
