Girl with the Eyes

In 2009 I accepted the challenge of writing about the Bezerra de Menezes Night Shelter and its contributions to the city of Cruzeiro-SP. The invitation came from my dear Professor Alice Guilhermina, from the Faculdades Integradas de Cruzeiro-FIC. Graduating in History, I decided to write the history of the social achievements of this religious institution as my final coursework. It took months of dedication and discovery. The research resulted in this material that portrays the importance of the Spiritist Doctrine in Cruzeiro, especially in its social and human aspects. The Bezerra de Menezes Night Shelter, a Cruzeirense Spiritist Institution, silently served as a safe haven for the countless travellers who crossed the city of Cruzeiro. In the city of Cruzeiro, the hostel is the 'apple of the eye', a unique social asset of enormous significance.
