Glen Edward Gorbous (born on July 8, 1930 in Drumheller, Alberta; died June 12, 1990) was a Canadian baseball player who holds the current world record for longest throw of a baseball, 135.89m (445 feet, 10 inches). Gorbous played outfield for the Cincinnati Redlegs, in 1955, and the Philadelphia Phillies, from 1955 to 1957. Major League Baseball (MLB) is the highest level of professional baseball in the United States and Canada, consisting of teams that play in the National League and the American League. The two leagues merged in 2000 into a single MLB organization led by the Commissioner of Baseball after 100 years as separate legal entities.
