High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Glypha III is a Joust clone for the Macintosh written in C by John Calhoun. It was developed and distributed by Soft Dorothy Software in 1995 as freeware and open-source. Since then, it has been ported to Mac OS X by Mark Pazolli, and to the iPhone by Kent Sutherland. In the game, the player plays inside an Egyptian temple and does battle with sphinxes using a lance and winged steed. Eggs are produced from dead sphinxes which hold a value of 500 points. The game and its source code were often included with programming guides, employed as model examples of Mac game programming. Calhoun often contributed to the guides himself.
