Greed, Love and Sacrifice

Two plays are presented in the book; the first one is a modern version of Shakespeare's play, "The Merchant of Venice", with a romantic addition of a new character, Rosa. The play takes place in the charming city, Venice, where love, friendship, sacrifice, enmity and greed meet to weave the events of this great play of all times.The second play is another classic; "The Gift of the Magi" by O. Henry, a play about love and sacrifice portraying the life of a married couple who proves that love is the greatest sacrifice in life.Both plays are new adaptation of the original ones with a modern touch, written and edited by the author, Tareq AlSamhouri, to make them good resources for school students to perform on stage as they are suitable for middle and high school students all over the world.The plays are also dedicated to all theatre lovers who like to perform on stage.

Mr. Tareq AlSamhouri, a Jordanian, living in Amman.He has a B.A degree in English literature from the University of Jordan and a high diploma in Linguistics.A poet, playwright and writer.Currently works as a teacher educator at the Queen Rania Teacher Academy (QRTA).
