Guide on the Use of Satellite Weather Data for Runoff Estimation

Runoff estimation is vital for many hydrologic uses. Runoff data for a particular basin or study area of interest is most important in the design of hydraulic structures, flood control and management, irrigation management, among other engineering applications. This book aims to guide the average layman on how to go about in calibrating satellite rainfall and temperature data, and using the same for runoff estimation using a runoff model. The procedure provided is comprehensive and easy to learn. In addition the book provides any background technical information required for a basic understanding of engineering hydrology and its importance. It also aims to make anyone that completes it able to use computer software to perform essential hydrological operations using ArcGIS, Excel Spreadsheet and DHI MIKE 11 Runoff Model.
