Guided Endodontics

Guided Endodontics also known as Targeted Endodontic Treatment (TET) is recently developed technology introduced to facilitate the treatment of severely calcified teeth. This approach is a way to use CBCT merged with an optical impression, creating platform for the design of a virtual drill path subsequent to the clinical procedure of drilling using a guide.Guided Endodontics is a novel approach for the preparation of apically extended access cavities. Use of Guided Endodontics for negotiating calcified teeth significantly reduces access cavity size and thereby preserving healthy tooth structure.Hence, Guided Endodontics with the help of various armamentarium and techniques offers new possibilities by reducing further size of the access cavity preparation to an absolute minimum required for root canal instrumentation, cleaning and filling.
