Gully erosion and Its impact in five selected settlement towns

The book tries to evaluate the major geohazard in some parts of Abia State of Nigeria. The origin, the activities and solutions to the problems and ways of preventing it from spreading further.A review of the impact of gully erosion in five settlement towns in Isiukwuato, Abia State southeastern Nigeria was carried out. Series of geotechnical tests not limited to Particle-size analyses, Atterberg limits, Compaction and Shear strength were performed on the soil samples in accordance with procedures specified by the American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) and the British Standard Methods fortesting soils for Civil Engineering purposes.
