(H)ALFA project: harnessing under-exploited bioenergy

To combat desertification, protect the Moroccan forest and respect local traditions, the author has been running an ambitious agro-industrial project called the (H)ALFA Project for the past ten years. The aim of the project is to produce and market fuel briquettes made from the Moroccan biomass found in the alfa beds of the arid Atlas steppes. This book is a compilation of international conferences and scientific publications that have been produced by the author to motivate local entrepreneurship and make this project a socio-economic success in one of the most beautiful regions of North Africa.

Joël POUSTIS, Dr. der Physikwissenschaften, ist als Berater in den Bereichen Biomasse und Energie tätig. Er hat mehrere wissenschaftliche Arbeiten veröffentlicht und an fast 50 Konferenzen zu diesem Thema teilgenommen. Seine Vorliebe für Innovation und die wohlwollende Art seines Vorgehens geben ihm die Kraft, sich für Projekte in dieser Region des Maghreb einzusetzen.
