Hans Aichinger

The oeuvre of the Leipzig-based artist Hans Aichinger (*1959) is dedicated to the representational. Figural compositions with a great density of content that can be ascribed to the New Leipzig School are executed in a hyper-realistic manner of painting and virtuoso artistic technique.

Hans Aichinger has worked in a studio in Leipzig's Baumwollspinnerei since studying and teaching at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig. His works are characterised by powerful reduction, which emphasises precisely painted figures that are highlighted in contrast to the minimalist background. The sophisticated lighting, often developed out of the dark, focuses the attention on the central motif.
