Happy old year: the crisis in the Brazilian prison system in 2017

This book is part of a research project that aims to study the language practised in the prison environment, considering the context of social isolation, the forced coexistence between people with different personal histories, the precarious structural conditions of the units that make up the Brazilian Penitentiary System and the lack of respect for the norms contained in the legal provisions. With this in mind, this book presents a current panorama of Brazil's prison system, using the methodology of documentary research and a bibliographical review.

Rodrigo Mazer Etto - Graduated in Portuguese/English Literature from Faculdades Adamantinenses Integradas, with a specialisation in Portuguese Language and Literature from Faculdades SECAL. He is currently studying for a master's degree in the Postgraduate Programme in Language Studies at the State University of Ponta Grossa - PR, with research in the area of sociolinguistics.
