Healing After Periodontal Surgery

The systematic and scientific approach to the study of periodontal wound healing leads to identification of variables to achieve periodontal regeneration which includes progenitor cell population, root surface alteration, epithelial exclusion, wound stabilization and reduced periodontium. The application of newer regenerative procedures (root conditioning, coronally displaced flap), devices (bone grafts, guided tissue regeneration), and bioactive substances (growth factors, bone morphogenic proteins, attachment proteins) depends on these variables.This book includes the general concepts of wound healing, the characteristic concepts of periodontal healing, healing after periodontal procedures.
