Health coming with bees

In all cultures, interest in natural products for maintaing human health has started to increase day by day. Natural products such as propolis, royal jelly, pollen, and honey have gained great importance. Honey has been used in wound treatment for a long years. It is known that honey taken orally is protective against cancer and metastasis, activates the immune system, and shows antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. In addition to honey, royal jelly and pollen are foods rich in vitamins, minerals, proteins, and free amino acids. Thus, they are frequently used products due to their antioxidant, antifungal, and antibacterial properties. Resin-like propolis is a complex mixture made by bees. Propolis has antioxidant, anticancer and antibacterial effects. Kaempferol and chrysin found in propolis are known as antiallergic components. Studies have shown that regular consumption of royal jelly may support growth, development, the immune system and antioxidant system, strengthen memory, and delay aging. This book provides information on honey, pollen, propolis, and royal jelly have beneficial effects and high nutritional value on human health.
