Health education modules on malaria prevention for pregnant women

This book is a comprehensive guide for pregnant women on how to protect themselves from malaria infection. It can be adopted by health care workers for their routine antenatal health talks, and can also be read by the pregnant women themselves as the message has been simplified in plain language to allow easy comprehension by lay people.The book was designed according to the information-motivation-behavioral skills model, with modules 1 and 2 covering the information construct, Module 3 covering the motivation construct, while Module 4 covers the behavioral skills construct. In a randomized controlled trial, this book was effective in improving the knowledge, motivation and behavioral skills of participants in the intervention group.
