HealthRight was founded in 1990 by pioneering physician and human rights advocate Dr. Jonathan Mann, who championed the principle that health is a human right and that health and human rights are inextricably linked. From 1990 to 2009, HealthRight was known as Doctors of the World-USA, and during that time was the autonomous U.S. delegation of the International Network of Médecins du Monde.Headquartered in New York, HealthRight has worked in over 30 countries, with current projects in Kenya, Mexico, Nepal, Russia, Ukraine, United States, and Vietnam.
