Heavy metal Dynamics in Soil and Plant System

Most of the heavy metals are toxic to living systems. Largely heavy metals are low mobility in soils and having high adsorption with organic matter and mediated by soil properties. Management of heavy metal toxicity by incorporation of organic and inorganic soil amendment are the prime requirement for sustainable crop production. This book addressed soil and environmental issues particularly on heavy metal dynamics in different ecosystems. It also described the tool and techniques of metal indices in plants and soil system. This book having different chapters like need of waste water use, impact of abiotic stress on plant system, source of heavy metals, effect of heavy metals on food quality, role of heavy metals in environmental pollution, lead and nickel mediated plant growth and soil enzymatic activities, Pb & Ni chemistry in soil, mechanism of soil enzyme, cellular mechanisms for heavy metals, phytoremediation of metals from contaminated soils, remediation techniques, policy guidelines for waste water use, lead and nickel dynamic in spinach- a pilot study.
