Hepatitis (B and C) is a worldwide problem rapidly spreading in developing countries. Over 2 billion people across the globe have been exposed to Hepatitis B virus and 350 million are its chronic carriers. According to an estimate, it causes death of over 1 million people annually. Book is about prevalence of hepatitis B and C in Gilgit city of Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. Research also include genomic characterization of viruses collected during the study. Information presented will be helpful for health managers, planner, practitioners, hygiene promoters, pathologists, microbiologists and awareness raising campaign leaders and organizations equally.

Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed is Chairman at the Department of Biological Sciences at Karakorum International University. He has published more than 23 research papers and a book earlier. He has established 2 state of the art labs in the University. Ms. Kashmala Jamil was working as research student and Mr. Tika Khan is a faculty member and a PhD Scholar.
