Hepatitis can occasionally result in severe side effects including liver cancer or failure. Depending on the underlying cause, treatment for hepatitis may involve antiviral drugs, supportive care and lifestyle modifications. Hepatitis A and B vaccinations are available and they can help lower the risk of consequences and prevent infection. It is imperative to identify and treat hepatitis early to minimize long-term liver damage and enhance recovery.
