The book is a result of the project "Politics of Memory and Memory Cultures of the Russo-Ottoman War 1877/1878: From Divergence to Dialogue" (MEMORYROW), which is funded by the European Commission's "International Research Staff Exchange Scheme - Marie Curie Actions". The book is based on Memory studies as an emerging multidisciplinary academic field. It aims at revealing the Bulgarian memory policy and memory cultures to the Russo-Ottoman War 1877/1878 in different historical periods and different political contexts. Researches on the memory places, celebrations, cinema, tourist movements, school textbooks and women's memoirs about the war are presented. The book will be of interest for wide range of scholars - historical anthropologists, social and cultural historians, specialists in Gender and Political studies.

Milena Angelova is specialist in social history, historical anthropology and memory policies in the socialist Bulgaria. Nurie Muratova works on archive policies and gender studies. Anastasiya Pashova, Kristina Popova, Petar Vodenicharov, Mariyana Piskova work together with them on memory policies about the Russo-Ottoman War 1877/1878.
