Inflammation is the body's attempt at self-protection to remove harmful stimuli and begin the healing process, which involves immune cells, blood vessels and molecular mediators, towards the harmful stimuli. The inflammatory response is in three different phases:(A) An acute phase(B) A sub-acute phase(C) A chronic proliferative phase The Mercapto Benzothiazole Linked 1,2,4-Oxadiazole derivatives were designed by Bioisosteric replacement designing approach and synthesized. The 2-Mercapto Benzooxazole linked 1,2,4-Oxadiazoles were designed by scaffold hopping approach and synthesised. The 2-Mercapto Benzothiazole Coupled Benzyl Triazoles compounds were designed by scaffold-Hopping approach and synthesised. All these compounds were biologically evaluated as anti inflammatory agents by targeting COX-1, COX-2, and LOX-5.

Prof.Rambabu Gundla is currently in GITAM deemed to be University Hyderabad. He worked as a Principal Scientist in Collaborative drug discovery research, GVK BIO, Hyderabad. Fifteen years of experience in Rational Drug Design and Medicinal Chemistry. Worked for industry almost 10 years and executed number drug discovery projects.
