Financial risk management is one of the most sought after topic in the academia as well as industry. In the world of finance, risk- reward perspectives are pivotal in shaping the decision patterns of corporate and each and every individual making some financial choice. The dilemma that seems to creep in the minds of the decision makers rotates on what to be preferred more; risk or return. The payoffs associated with higher risk may be overwhelming to get one encouraged to take the risk but the downside cannot be ignored either. The rational human being looking at satisfying behavior may be more inclined towards easy way of looking into the dynamics of risk and reward relationship and build portfolio, which leaves them satisfied. The basic motivation of writing this reference book is to demystify the mathematical and statistical modelling part of portfolio optimization to the extent possible. The book aims to generate curiosity among the interested individual to delve further and explore further the fascinating world of portfolio optimization.
