Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Tree Grayling (Hipparchia statilinus) is a butterfly of the family Nymphalidae. The species can be found in Central Europe, Southern Europe, North Africa, Anatolia and the Caucasus. The wingspan is 21 25 millimetres (0.83 0.98 in). The butterflies fly in one generation from June to October. .The larvae feed on Corynephorus canescens, Bromus and other grasses. A butterfly is a mainly day-flying insect of the order Lepidoptera, the butterflies and moths. Like other holometabolous insects, the butterfly's life cycle consists of four parts: egg, larva, pupa and adult. Most species are diurnal. Butterflies have large, often brightly coloured wings, and conspicuous, fluttering flight. Butterflies comprise the true butterflies (superfamily Papilionoidea), the skippers (superfamily Hesperioidea) and the moth-butterflies (superfamily Hedyloidea). All the many other families within the Lepidoptera are referred to as moths.
