History and Development of TVET and HRD in Kenya

This book provides the history and evolution of human resource development (HRD) in Kenya as it relates to technical and vocational education and training (TVET) from pre-colonial days to 2005. The purposes of the study is to, dentify the definition of HRD as derived and used in Kenya;trace the history of HRD in Kenya as it relates to TVET since per-independence years to 2005; describe the evolution patterns of HRD in Kenya and how it relates to TVET and State the impact and status of HRD in Kenya as it relates to TVET through the years since pre-colonial period to-date. This work was as a result of extensive research done while studying and working in the US. HRD is a new area of interest in Africa and developing countries making it necessary for employees and employers to study more in the area in order to realize organizational growth.
