History of Greek Dance

I have been involved with the history of dancing for many years because it is a natural movement which we encounter every day! I am very interested in the dances of Ancient Greece where you will see that dances take place for all social events, like birth, marriage and death. Of course there are some martial dances which you will read about and they evolved from the many battles Greece was involved with in the ancient times.

Aleko Damaskinos was born on the island of Corfu, Greece in 1948 and after the primary and secondary education on Corfu he went to Scotland where he gained two university degrees and later in London was awarded a doctoral degree.Unmarried. He now spends his retirement on the island of Corfu and writes books on many subjects.
