History of Medicine including Ayurveda, Dentistry, Nursing, Homeopathy

History plays an important role in the development of any science and medical science is no exception to this rule. The evolution of the medical science to today's advanced avatar is the result of the herculean efforts undertaken by various scientists who have left distinct impressions in the history of medicine. History not only tells us regarding the development in the past but it prepares us for the future, by avoiding the mistakes done in the history many mistakes in the future can be avoided. With this view in mind department of Pharmacology Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College Sawangi (Meghe) conducted an interdisciplinary CME on History of Medicine. Eight eminent faculties Dr. Bharat C. Chouragade,Dr Asha Jha , Dr. P.H.Parihar , Dr. Arati Panchbhai, Dr. Aditya Patel, Dr.Yashwant R.Lamture, Mrs Ruchira Ankar, Dr.Anil Lonare form different faculties of Ayurveda, Nursing, Dentistry and Homeopathy participated in the CME as guest speakers. The CME was guided by Dr S.S. Patel, Chief coordinator DMIMS (DU). Dr.S.S. Pathak, professor and head dept of Pharmacology JNMC was organizing chairman with Dr.S. Totade, Professor, Pharmacology acting as organizing secretary.

Dr. Swanand S. Pathak is Professor and Head department of Pharmacology Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College at Wardha, Maharashtra. He did his MBBS and MD in the subject of Pharmacology with PhD in Pharmacology and MPhil in health professional's education. As a medical professional he has to his credit 29 publications including 6 books.
