HIV and AIDS-related Stigma and Discrimination in Nepal

Stigma and discrimination has been associated with all chronic and fatal diseases from the beginning of the history. Stigma has been the greatest barrier to effective HIV and AIDS programming all over the world. There is very little academic literature available on how to tackle with this problem especially in the context of low HIV epidemic countries like Nepal. This book therefore provides a thorough knowledge and understanding for the readers on HIV and AIDS related Stigma and Discrimination by exploring the contributing factors and manifestations and investigating the evidence of relevance and effectiveness of interventions in reducing stigma and discrimination.

Bishwa Rai es licenciado en Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales por la Universidad Tribhuvan de Nepal y tiene un máster en Salud Pública por el Real Instituto Tropical de los Países Bajos. Tiene más de 10 años de experiencia en el campo de la salud pública en Nepal, especialmente en lo que respecta a la tuberculosis y el VIH/SIDA.
