Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. HMS Nubian was a Royal Navy Tribal class destroyer. Her bows were destroyed by a torpedo from a German destroyer on the night of 26-27 October 1916 off Folkestone during the Battle of Dover Strait. She was taken in tow and run ashore near Dover. Another Tribal class destroyer, Zulu had her stern blown off by a mine near Dunkirk on 8 November 1916 and towed to Calais. Both wrecks were towed to Chatham Dockyard and the undamaged portions joined where Zubian was constructed out of the bows of Zulu and the mid-section and stern of Nubian.
