House's Model Application to Faulkner's book Translated by S.Hosseini

There are different Translation Quality Assessment Models, each of which introduces new ideas and novel ways to assess the quality of a translated work. These models, however, approach this task differently based on their theoretical framework to assess a translated work integratively, discretely or a mix of them. House's TQA model seems to be a promising one to assess literary translations. The current study aimed at investigating the House's Translation Quality Assessment (TQA) Model and its power to predict the errors in Persian translations of literary works. A translation quality assessment of Persian translation of William Faulkner's "The Sound and the Fury" on the basis of House's Translation Quality Assessment (TQA) Model was carried out. Some samples of the original and their translations were randomly selected and analyzed. The findings supported the claim that House's Model is capable of predicting the types of errors which are covertly and overtly erroneous errors.
