This research investigated contemporary thinking and
practice in human resources management in the hotel
industry in Taiwan. This industry is of great
economic significance for Taiwan, being an area of
rapid growth specifically targeted by its
government. Previous research regarding this
industry in Taiwan is limited, with this study
providing a significant addition to industry
knowledge. The study recommends a more strategic
approach to human resources management(HRM),
highlighting the vital importance of developing
sound customer service cultures and practices.

International Business, Wenzao Ursuline College of Languages,
Taiwan. Her current research interests are in the areas of
human resource management and hospitality management.
