A comparative assessment of the hydro-chemical quality of the shallow aquifers and surface water sources in the Jia Bharali River basin of north Brahmaputra plain and adjoining areas of the Himalayan foothills has been made in this work. Six set of seasonal samples were analysed with respect to the common physicochemical parameters and trace metallic constituents.Linear correlation studies among the parameters and Piper classification are employed to critically study the geochemical characteristics of the water sources.It may be noted that there is almost complete absence of database with regard to water quality in the study area and the data generated will constitute a very important database.

Autorentext

Dr Nayan Jyoti khound has obtained his PhD degree in Chemistry in 2012. Since then he is working in several national project in the field of chemistry and environmental sciences. He is also the author of several research articles published in international journals.
