Details

Over the last few years, hydroentanglement is the
fastest growing nonwoven bonding technology. With
this boom has also come a rise in the need for
comprehensive understanding of the impact of process
parameters on fabric performance. Very little
academic literature exists on how to best correlate
water jet nozzle design, forming wire geometry, and
fiber properties with fabric performance. This book,
therefore, provides a model that describes the force
and energy required to form fabric aperture and
considers three force mechanisms on fabric
performance in terms of fiber properties and forming
wire geometry.

Complemented with extensive critical literature
review and nearly 200 tables, graphs, and equations,
this book should be especially useful to nonwoven,
fiber, and textile scientists and engineers; jet
nozzle and forming wire manufacturers; nonwoven and
fiber producers; and graduate-level students in
these disciplines.
