Hydrogeophysical Investigation in Shebe Watershed,Jima, Ethiopia

Water is one of the most important commodities which man was exploited than any other resources for sustenance of his life. The need for water is strongly ascending which is not only important for domestic purpose but also for the development activities in both agricultural and industrial sectors. Any developmental activity is related, either directly or indirectly, with water utilization. More than 71% of the earths surface is covered by water, while surface water makes more than 97% of the earths water. Surface, Subsurface and atmospheric water, in all its forms is collectively called as hydrosphere. Subsurface water consists of groundwater including soil moisture on the continent. Groundwater is a primary source of fresh water in several towns and rural areas.Therefor,those professionals,organizations,and etc who are working in the water sector particularly on exploration and development of ground water,should start with desk study and detail study of ground water (Geological ,Geophysical and sociological approach) as a general should be conducted for better result.
