This research study is part of HRC and UNESCO-IHE sponsored project titled "Spate Irrigation for Rural Economic Growth and Poverty Alleviation in Sudan" of which this book is one of the outputs. The book describes the methods used for discharge computation in the Gash River and the accuracy of the existing flow measurements. This study is concerned with the flow measurement in the Gash for the purpose of computing the hourly, daily, monthly and annual River discharges for the years of 2007 to 2012.

Yasir Hageltom possède une vaste expérience couvrant différents aspects des ressources en eau et de l'ingénierie hydraulique. Il est titulaire d'un master en sciences et ingénierie de l'eau de l'UNESCO-IHE (Pays-Bas). Il travaille actuellement comme chercheur au Centre de recherche hydraulique de Wad Medani, au Soudan.
