Food hygiene and safety are a priority component of everyone's day-to-day life and of a wide range of activities and institutions. Today, more than ever, the safety of food products is a central concern in the eyes of citizens and responsible organisations, as well as a necessary condition for strengthening consumer protection. One of the sectors of economic activity with the greatest impact on consumers is undoubtedly the food sector. It's a sector where supply is constantly growing as trade intensifies and where quality is also demanded by those who buy. Companies that produce, handle, supply or distribute food recognise an ever-increasing need to demonstrate and document control conditions that have an impact on food safety, in order to guarantee the essential food quality.

Pompílio A. Vintuar est mozambicain, originaire de la province de Zambézia - Inhassunge. Il est titulaire d'un doctorat en sciences agricoles/agroécologie (2005), d'une maîtrise en commerce agricole et d'un diplôme d'ingénieur en agronomie et en développement rural de l'Académie des sciences agricoles de la Fédération de Russie. Il est membre à part entière de l'Académie des sciences du Mozambique et Senior Fellow à l'université de Lurio.
