Details

The synthesis of a type of helical drill is proposed, which should combine the advantages of multi-edged drills with the constructive solution in which the cutting edges have a variable angle of attack, decreasing from the tool tip to the periphery, reducing specific wear. Practically, a new type of drill and a new sharpening process are proposed - the synthesis of a new construction of the helical drill with three circular edges is performed, which reduces the load on each tooth of the tool and, at the same time, uniformizes the unit energy load along the edge. The subject is important because of the cutting processes, drilling, as a process of full processing of bores, is a very useful process - about 35% of total cutting.
