ICT in Higher Education

In 21st century, liberalization, privatization and globalization constitute the current, social , economic, technological and political space which causes different Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) to become functional. Modern forms of ICT have made it possible for users across the world to communicate with each other in real-time on a regular basis. Globalization and technological changes have created a new global economy which consist of latest information and knowledge. In the past few decades, society is enriched with a vast array of new communication capabilities such as instant messaging, voice over IP (VoIP) and video-conferencing with the support of ICT. The important characteristics of ICT is gathering, storing and analyzing information with greater accuracy and granularity. Modern ICTs have created a "global village," in which people can communicate with others across the world as if they are living next door. For this reason, ICT is often studied in the context of how modern communication technologies affect society.
