Discrimination in the workplace causes considerable damage to the growth and development of both employees and the organization. The general problem was that discrimination in the workplace endangers businesses and causes legal and financial risks. The specific problem addressed in this study was the lack of training among leaders concerning workplace discrimination. The purpose of this qualitative literature review was to explore and identify possible discriminatory behaviors and proactive strategies to mitigate the risk of financial loss associated with workplace discrimination. This study was a qualitative systematic literature review with the hermeneutic approach to provide a clear understanding and interpretation of the research data collected. The study findings suggest that discrimination always presents in one form or another in the workplace. The study evaluated legal and financial risk due to workplace discrimination and ERM strategies to minimize legal and financial risk and found that unconscious bias might cause significant financial and legal losses for an organization.
