Identity, Infertility, and Volunteerism
Details
This book hopes to uncover the coping mechanisms that infertile women utilize to understand their health, identity, and the world around them. From a sociological framework, this book examines volunteers within the organization of RESOLVE and how this relationship defines their identities, infertility, and their relation to the fertile world. As it is discovered, the organization of RESOLVE helps these women to build strength, sense of self, and empowerment. Thus in some sense, they begin to embrace their identity with infertility and their new developing identities of motherhood as each volunteer achieves parenthood.
