Image Resolution is the most important quality factor of videos and images. Image resolution enhancement (IRE) is the process of manipulating an image so that modified image is superior image as compared to original image. Image enhancement improves the quality (clarity) of images for human viewing. In recent year's images with higher resolution is most prime requirement in many of the image processing applications, such as, medical imaging, video sequences and satellite imaging. Many different methods and techniques, based on wavelet transform have been proposed in last few years. Here in this book different image resolution enhancement techniques based on wavelet domain such as wavelet zero padding - Cycle spinning (WZP-CS), Dual tree complex wavelet transform(DT-CWT), Discrete and stationary wavelet transform (DWT & SWT) are explained.
